Kings take on Hornets in Big Easy
(Sports Network) - The Sacramento Kings wrap up a quick two-game road trip Wednesday when they head to the Big Easy to face off with the New Orleans Hornets.
Memphis' Rudy Gay scored 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds, as the Grizzlies routed the Kings, 109-94, on Tuesday.
John Salmons scored 18 points for the Kings, who have dropped three straight without star guard Kevin Martin.
Spencer Hawes had 14 points, and rookie forward Jason Thompson scored 12 points and tallied nine boards. Bobby Jackson added 13 points for Sacramento.
Martin has missed the past five games for Sacramento with an ankle injury and will be sidelined again tonight.
Also absent for the Kings will be power forward Mikki Moore, who is out with a sprained right ankle.
The Hornets dropped their last game to the Houston Rockets on Saturday when Yao Ming scored 21 points, and Tracy McGrady added 18 points and nine rebounds in a 91-82 victory.
Chris Paul had 12 points and 12 assists for the Hornets, but shot an awful 2- of-10 from the field.
David West with 18 points and 10 rebounds for New Orleans, which has lost two of its past three games. Tyson Chandler had 16 points and Devin Brown scored 13 in a reserve role.
Paul is listed as probable for tonight's game with a balky ankle.
The Kings, who are just 1-5 on the road this season, won two of three versus New Orleans last season but the home team has won three straight in the series and 12 of the last 13 meetings.
The Hornets have won six straight home contests against Sacramento.
