The half-mile track, located in Mansfield, OH, has hosted a Truck Series race each year since 2004, and had an event scheduled for May 23. But according to a NASCAR press release, Mansfield requested that "the event be moved from its track because of its inability to meet the requirements necessary to remain a NASCAR sanctioned track." Track management posted a notice on its website.

Benson, 45, has driven for Bill Davis Racing since 2005 and recorded 14 Truck Series wins with the organization, including five during his championship campaign this year. He won the series title by just seven points over Ron Hornaday, Jr. Benson recently announced he would leave BDR at the end of this season.
Benson's crew chief, Trip Bruce, has also joined the team.

Meanwhile, Todd Bodine won at Homestead, holding off Brian Scott in a green- white-checkered finish. The victory was Bodine's third of the season and the 15th of his Truck Series career.
Scott finished second, and Kevin Harvick was third.

"When they brought the spacer plate along, it's now at these big race tracks where everybody is holding it wide open," Skinner said. "And Homestead is one of those race tracks it's hard to hold wide open, and we were able to do it. I guess that's why we're on the pole." edged Sprint Cup Series regular Kyle Busch to win the pole for Friday night's Lucas Oil 150 Craftsman Truck Series race at Phoenix International Raceway. The No.33 Chevrolet driver and defending series champion rounded the one-mile oval in 27.319 seconds (131.776 m.p.h.).
The pole victory was Hornaday's fifth of the season, second at Phoenix and 19th of his Truck Series career.

Hornaday recorded a season-sweep at Texas as he won here in June. It was his sixth victory of the season and the 39th of his career.
With the victory, Hornaday is just six points behind leader Johnny Benson, making it the closest margin in the series with two races to go. Only Phoenix and Homestead remain on the schedule.

Crawford recorded his fifth career Truck Series pole, but his first since October 2005 at Martinsville.

Qualifying was originally scheduled for Saturday morning, but a revised schedule for the track calls for Truck Series practice early in the morning followed by Sprint Cup Series final practice.
Truck teams never had the opportunity to practice Friday because of poor weather conditions. Sprint Cup teams only had a few minutes of practice before the session was halted. Qualifying for that series was also cancelled.

The victory was Benson's sixth of the season and the 14th of his Truck Series career.
He also reclaimed the lead in the championship standings, 65 points ahead of Hornaday.

KHI co-owner Kevin Harvick will assume driving duties of the No.2 truck for the October 18th race at the Martinsville Speedway.
"The performance of the No.2 team was not up to either Jack or KHI's standards," Harvick said. "My main goal now is to prepare the team to run for a championship in 2009. I am looking forward to getting behind the wheel in Martinsville. It should be a lot of fun." Details on the driver lineup for the remainder of the season will be announced at a later date.

NASCAR revised the weekend schedule for New Hampshire after rain postponed the Camping World East Series race. The East Series event was set for 5:10 p.m. (et) on Friday but rescheduled until 10:00 a.m.
Saturday, the same time qualifying was slated for the Truck Series.

Hornaday revealed to ESPN The Magazine earlier this week he used the cream from December 2004 to January 2006 for an undiagnosed condition. He had been losing weight and suffered from the shakes before doctors diagnosed him with Graves' disease, a common form of hyperthyroidism, in March 2006. Hornaday has been treated with the prescribed medication Synthroid since then.
NASCAR officials met with Hornaday Friday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, where the Truck Series is competing. Hornaday, the defending and only repeat winner at New Hampshire, has been cleared of any wrong-doing.

Speed, the current ARCA RE/MAX points leader, will run the first of eight remaining truck races left on his schedule this year for BDR.

Benson dealt with an ill-handling truck throughout the race, but triumphed at the end as he passed Erik Darnell with three laps to go and then held it for his series-leading fourth win of the season and the 13th of his career.
